ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Shell Oil as due has submitted an offshore expedition organisation for up to sextet preliminary wells in the Chukchi Sea soured Alaska's northwest get over the next two years.
The organisation was submitted weekday to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management Regulation and Enforcement. Shell had declared its intentions last week.
Shell Alaska spokesman phytologist adventurer says the company remains hopeful the agency will approve Shell's Chukchi expedition plan.
But he says the agency must resolve a suite case that challenged the federal government's environmental review before lease sales in 2008.
Shell has spent more than $3.5 billion in Alaska for outmost continental ridge drilling, including $2.1 billion for Chukchi leases, but has drilled no newborn wells because of suite challenges or its quality to obtain permits.
