WASHINGTON (AFP) – Engineers hit identified the theoretical difficulty that suspended the expanse shuttle Endeavour's final assignment last week, but the incoming liftoff endeavor module not be before May 10, NASA said Monday.

"NASA expanse shuttle and International Space Station managers met weekday and observed that Tuesday, May 10 is the earliest Endeavour could be launched on the STS-134 mission," the US expanse authority said in a statement.

The assignment of the shuttle Endeavour is to be the US program's second-to-last flight to the International Space Station, followed by Atlantis in June. After that, the 30-year-old US shuttle program module end.

The glitch, which caused NASA to scrub the endeavor hours before liftoff Friday, was derived to a power difficulty in the aftermost alluviation curb assembly-2 (ALCA-2), a incase of switches that curb electrical flow to heaters that ready render lines from chilling in orbit.

"The plan is to vanish and replace the box, but that work and attendant investigating module verify individual life to complete," NASA said.

"Plans are for managers to reconvene Friday to determine a more defined start fellow after the incase is distant and replaced and the retest of systems has been completed."

The six-member crew of astronauts mitt Florida on Sun and are engaging in more assignment training at NASA's President Space Center in Houston, Texas patch they move for the incoming start endeavor fellow to be announced.

Endeavour module circularize a $2 billion, seven-ton particle physics detector, the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer-2, which module be mitt at the expanse station to scour the aggregation for dark matter and antimatter.

The 14-day mission, famous as STS-134, is to be commanded by US traveler Mark Kelly, whose wife, Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, is sick from a shot harm to the nous uninterrupted in January.
